I'm Arika! I live in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I got into canning and local food about 5 years ago, which was my first foray into "urban homesteading". When my partner and I moved into our house several years ago, I planted my own garden for the first time ever!
Sharing my learning experiences as I experimented with gardening, new homeownership, canning and preserving, and trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle were my motivations for beginning this blog.
